The Work
I wanted to build something that felt less like a scheduled activity and more like stepping into a world.
Each event starts with a concept—tone, characters, structure—and then gets built out into a full experience. That includes visual identity (menus, signage, graphics), but also how people move through the space, how performers interact, and how the pacing feels from start to finish.
Behind that, there’s a full layer of production and logistics. I handle venue coordination and buyouts, catering and menu development, ticketing and RSVPs, merchandise planning and sales, staffing, and insurance—building each event from the ground up and making sure it runs smoothly in real time.
A big part of the work is directing performers so everything feels cohesive and intentional, even when it’s interactive and unscripted.
Beyond production, I develop original event formats—from immersive cafés to character-driven speed dating—that encourage guests to participate rather than simply attend.
Outcome
Since launching AICOSU, I've produced multiple immersive events serving more than 1,300 guests across conventions including Anime Expo and Anime Los Angeles. Our productions continue to grow in scale, with our latest Anime Expo event becoming our largest to date, featuring a cast of 20 performers and nearly 250 attendees.
Beyond attendance, the events have developed a loyal following. Guests regularly report traveling specifically to attend AICOSU programming, with many purchasing convention badges primarily for our events.
Our productions have also attracted recognition from industry creatives, including the creators and animators behind Hazbin Hotel, who attended our Hotel Hazbin event and shared their experience publicly.
